Grade 7 & 8 In-Person Mathematics and Literacy Program

The Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board (NPSC) is pleased to offer the Grades 7 and 8 Summer Mathematics and Literacy Camp.  Open to current Grade 7 & 8 students, our summer camp program addresses the needs of the students in reading, writing, numeracy and technology. It is also designed to help boost student self-confidence and self-worth, resulting in increased confidence in Grade 8 and/or a successful transition to secondary school. Students will participate in a variety of engaging, interactive and collaborative activities to help them to improve their skills in the following areas:
  • Reading - Students will be exposed to a variety of text genres and will learn how to respond effectively to comprehension questions using a variety of reading strategies
  • Writing - Students will learn how to write complex sentences, and well-developed and organized paragraphs
  • Numeracy - The focus is on further developing computational fluency using a variety of strategies, and to review grades 7 & 8 Number Sense concepts

Dates: Our program is scheduled to take place in person from July 4-22, 2022;  9:00am - 11:30am

Eligibility: Students currently in Grades 7 and 8.

Grade 3-6 Literacy and Numeracy Summer Learning STEAM

Experience S.T.E.A.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics)

The Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board (NPSC) is pleased to offer the Literacy and Numeracy STEAM Summer Learning Program for NPSC students currently in Grades 3–6. A key outcome of this program is to support learning needs in literacy and numeracy over the summer months for students and support their learning needs arising from this past school year. Our program is scheduled to take place in person from July 4-22, 2022.

Please note that this program is contingent upon sufficient student enrolment and spaces are limited. Confirmation will be provided to parents and guardians within the month of June via their home schools. We kindly request parents complete the pre-registration form by Wednesday June 15, 2022 via the link below. Should you have any questions, kindly contact your home school principal.

Dates: July 4-22; 9:00am - 12:00pm (with a break)

Eligibility: Students currently in Grades 3-6.
