NPSC Embarks on Pilgrimage of the Heart
Posted on 02/22/2024
On Tuesday, February 20, 2024, the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board (NPSC) was excited to reveal the Icon of Love art piece, serving to animate the Board’s Year of Love annual pastoral theme.

Launching from Mother St. Bride School, the Pilgrimage of the Heart, in the form of a puzzle, will begin the journey to each NPSC school over the course of the next several months, culminating in its arrival to the NPSC board office in June. Each piece of the puzzle was designed with love by students from each of our Catholic schools, representing the meaning of this year’s pastoral theme focused on God’s unconditional love for us, how we can offer to love God and how we love our neighbour.

The Pilgrimage of the Heart launch is also aligned to the 2023-2024 Catholic Education Week theme “We Are Called to Love”. It is this love that permeates how we live in the world and as we act with love, we build a better future together.

The launch assembly provided students, staff, trustees and community members an opportunity to gather to pray, reflect and celebrate the Year of Love guided by our Board Chaplain Father Joseph, while exploring how choosing to love one another in our current world is a vital part of being human and Christian.

We invite our NPSC community to join us on this pilgrimage, a true journey of the heart, as the Icon of Love makes its way to St. Luke School on February 26, during a Liturgy of the Word school assembly.
