February Is Black History Month!
Posted on 01/31/2024

During the month of February, Canada and NPSC celebrates Black History Month.
We invite you to join us as we take special time during this month to focus on recognizing the daily contributions that Black Canadians, past and present, make to our society. This year the theme is "Black Excellence: A Heritage to Celebrate; a Future to Build”.
This theme celebrates the rich past and present contributions and accomplishments of Black people in Canada, while aspiring to embrace new opportunities for the future.
The theme aligns with the 10th year of the International Decade for People of African Descent and recognizes that people of African descent represent a distinct group whose human rights must be promoted and protected. No matter where you live, we invite all Canadians to learn more about Black Canadian communities, and how they continue to help shape Canada.
We look forward to sharing the many activities our schools are taking part in to recognize this important month. Throughout February, we invite you to join us on our website, Facebook, Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) as we celebrate the rich contributions that Black Canadian, past and present make.
We encourage you to explore the many resources available to celebrate Black Excellence!
