We welcome families and staff to follow NPSC Board Chaplain Father Joseph de Viveiros' weekly Advent prayers (below) and OCSTA's Advent Service "We Are Called to Love" to use at home to assist with Scripture readings, lighting Advent Wreaths, questions for personal reflection, and songs during the Advent season!
First Week of Advent:
Loving God, increase our desire to work for peace & justice that Christ may find an eager welcome at his coming & call us to his side in the kingdom of heaven, for he lives & reigns with you & the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever.
Amen.
Second Week of Advent:
God of power & mercy open our hearts in welcome. Remove the things that hinder us from receiving Christ with joy so that we may share his wisdom & become one with him when he comes in glory, for he lives & reigns with you & the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever.
Amen.
Third Week of Advent:
Lord of Life, may we, your people, who look forward to the coming of Christ experience the joy that comes from picking up our cross and following Jesus who lives and reigns with you & the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever.
Amen.
Fourth Week of Advent:
Loving God, by the power of the Holy Spirit your eternal Word took on flesh from the Virgin Mary who placed her life at the service of your plan. Lift our minds in watchful hope to hear the voices which announce his coming. We ask this though Christ our Lord.
Amen.
