NPSC Easter Message 2023

Easter Message from the Director of Education and NPSC Board Chair
Posted on 04/06/2023

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!

In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ..."

- Peter 1:3

Dear Parents/Guardians and NPSC community,

As an NPSC faith community, we take special time during this Holy Week to reflect in prayer and prepare for Easter - the most significant time and celebration in our liturgical calendar and our Catholic faith. At this time of year, we reflect upon and celebrate the Passion, Death and Resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ through liturgy and prayer. As we witness and experience the changing of the seasons all around us, we are reminded of the joy and promise of renewal and new beginnings that the Easter season brings us, and the hope for eternal life.

Over the course of the Lenten season, our Catholic schools have served and cared for the most vulnerable in our communities by collecting food for local food banks, raising funds for social justice efforts,
realizing and sharing their God-given gifts with each other, participating in Lenten liturgies, and developing their understanding of the Passion of Jesus as communities of faith.

We hope this season of Lent has been one of reflection and grace for our NPSC community, where we have been able to walk together with Jesus and grow in our awareness and understanding of His infinite love for us

As we journey through this Holy Week, we reflect with reverence that the joy of Easter came through sorrow, suffering and the death of Jesus in His human form. We remember and then celebrate that God so loved the world, He gave His only son. Through His love, hope and rebirth was provided to all our world. As Easter people, the Lord’s Resurrection gives us hope, new life and the promise of renewal in our lives.

As we enter the Easter Triduum, we invite and encourage all NPSC families to attend your local Catholic parish and participate in a service to celebrate as a community, this most sacred time in our Catholic faith.

We also invite our NPSC community to learn more about the significance of the Easter Triduum through reading
The Paschal (Easter) Triduum In A Minute” resource created by our Board Chaplain, Father Joseph de Viveiros.

On behalf of the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board of Trustees and Senior Administration Team, we offer our prayerful best wishes to
all of our students, families and staff for an Easter season filled with joy, peace and the Lord’s many abundant blessings.

Yours in Catholic Education,
