The Canadian Parents for French Ontario (CPFO) will be offering free French virtual programs for students from Senior Kindergarten to Grade 12 in Core French, French Immersion and Extended French. These programs, funded by the Ministry of Education, will be offered from May to August to support FSL students. Their virtual programs will be delivered by university students currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor of Education program and OCT certified teachers. Last year, in 2022, they were able to offer these programs to over 2500 students all across Ontario.
CPF is giving special priority by offering early registration between April 3 – April 16 to northern and rural schools as they understand that there are fewer free French enrichment opportunities available to families. Many of their programs last year filled up within minutes of registration opening. However, they acknowledge that many families from marginalized communities are not able to immediately register their children due to work commitments and/or access to technology.

CPF VIRTUAL “Franco-Fun” is a FREE program offered as an after-school or summer program featuring a daily 45-minute class over a two-week session. Elementary students will participate in fun and interactive games and activities, chat with new friends while building their French vocabulary, oral comprehension, and communication skills. This program is for SK to Grade 8 students in French Immersion, Extended French, or Core French.
CPF VIRTUAL Reading Circle/Cercle de lecture is a FREE virtual program offered as an after-school or summer program featuring a daily 45-minute class for elementary students over a two-week session. Students will participate in a shared reading experience with discussion and some written exercises. This program is for students in SK to Grade 8 in French Immersion, Extended French, or Core French.
CPF VIRTUAL “Vive La Parole” Program features theme-based games and interactive activities that will have students laughing and communicating with each other in French with ease! Our program leaders are eager to help students make new friends from across the province, learn about French culture, including the contemporary Franco Ontarian pop culture scene! This program is for students in Grades 7 to 12 in French Immersion, Extended French, or Core French.
