Dear Parents, Guardians,

The Ministry of Health and our Public Health partners support the fact that vaccines are safe and continue to represent the most effective strategy to protect Ontarians from COVID-19. It is also important for the protection of our youngest children (0-4 years) who are not yet eligible for vaccine protection.

The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit in collaboration with local school boards invite parents to complete a short survey to assist in the planning of future youth vaccination clinics in our district. The survey will be active until February 20th: School Vaccine Survey for 5-11 Years (English).

If your child is already scheduled to receive a vaccine within the next 1-2 weeks, please attend that appointment as scheduled. You can visit the Health Unit’s website to consult the list of available clinics and for more information about how you can book an appointment at a vaccination clinic or pharmacy in your community.

Preparing Your Child for Vaccination

We understand you or your child may have questions about the vaccine. Please speak to your child regarding the many benefits of being vaccinated against COVID-19. If your child has a fear of vaccination, please visit www.myhealthunit.ca for additional resources. If you have questions about COVID-19 vaccines for children and youth, please consult the Vaccine Information Sheet for Children for further information or COVID-19 Vaccine Consult Service to book a confidential telephone appointment with a SickKids clinician.
