At its regular meeting held June 28, 2022, the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board (NPSC) approved its 2022-2023 budget of $54,983,397 for submission to the Ministry of Education. The budget focuses on programs and services that directly benefit students and is compliant with Ministry of Education balanced budget legislation. “On behalf of the Board of Trustees, we extend gratitude to our administration and staff for planning and presenting a detailed and responsible budget with many key enhancements to support learning in the service of our students for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year.”, says Board Chair, Leo de Jourdan.  “The Board is very pleased to have unanimously approved a balanced budget that is strategically aligned to achieve the Board’s ENDs outcomes for students.”

NPSC’s 2022-2023 budget provides several areas of focus to support student learning, including new and continued programs and services which are aligned with Ontario’s Learning Recovery Action Plan and provides significant enhancements in the areas of Literacy, Mathematics, Special Education, and Mental Health & Well-being. The Board will also continue its expansion of Indigenous Studies at secondary, as well as a variety of student engagement initiatives. The Hockey Canada Skills Academy at St. Joseph-Scollard Hall will also begin its inaugural year in September 2022.

“We are pleased to have approved another fiscally responsible budget that reflects a sound stewardship of the Board’s resources.  We look forward to another successful and exciting school year ahead.”, says Board Vice-Chair, Shawn Fitzsimmons.
