September 30 marks Orange Shirt Day and the first ever National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.  On this day, NPSC students and staff will wear orange to raise awareness of the legacy of residential schools.  Commemoration of this painful piece of Canada’s history is a vital component of reconciliation which we support in our own Truth and Reconciliation Action Plan.  We continue to keep all the children and their families affected in our thoughts and prayers, for peace and healing.

SJSH teacher Tory Fisher, Indigenous Graduation Coach Jordan Mowat, and the NSL students have collaborated to create a video which will be made available for viewing by September 30.  Our NPSC elementary schools also have a variety of activities planned for the day.  These activities all help to make Truth & Reconciliation a reality in our schools so that we can continue to walk forward together.
