"And hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us."

Romans 5:5

Dear parents, guardians, students, staff, and members of our NPSC community,

The Easter season is upon us, and as we enter this most sacred and significant time of celebration in our Catholic faith, we invite you to join us in meaningful reflection. At this time, we are called to ponder the profound and foundational significance of the Passion, worldly death, and glorious Resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Simultaneously, in the world around us, we welcome the arrival of a new season and witness the majesty of God's creation in the spring bloom, divinely aligned with us in this period of rebirth and renewal.

As a Catholic faith community, we open our hearts to God’s love, humbly allowing the Holy Spirit to guide and empower us in carrying out Christ’s holy mission. Throughout this Lenten season, we have been blessed with numerous opportunities for reverence, service, and connection as our students participated in the life of the Church. Our students and staff have engaged in acts of almsgiving in support of our local community, including collecting food, personal care items, and well-being products for local parishes, charities, and hospital units. In doing so, we remember that our duty is to honour and promote the dignity of the human person by caring for and supporting one another, recognizing our unity as children of God.

With the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus – and the joyful celebrations that follow - comes hope. Hope is not only a central theme and blessing of the Easter season, but it is also the central virtue of this year’s NPSC Pastoral Plan, the 2025 Jubilee Year, and leads us to next month’s Catholic Education Week theme, Pilgrims of Hope.

As we conclude Holy Week, with hope on the horizon, we solemnly reflect on Jesus’ immense and selfless sacrifice – through which that very hope was made possible. From this faith blossoms our promise of eternal life, granted by God, who so loved the world that He gave His only Son.

This evening, we begin the Easter Triduum and therefore invite and encourage all NPSC families and community to attend a local Catholic parish to participate in a service that commemorates this holiest season of our faith. To deepen your understanding of the Easter Triduum, we invite you to explore The Pascal (Easter) Triduum in a Minute, a wonderful resource created by our Board Chaplain, Father Joseph de Viveiros, C.R.

On behalf of the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board of Trustees and Senior Administration Team, we extend our heartfelt prayers and warmest Easter blessings to all our students, families, and staff.

May the joy of Christ’s Resurrection renew our spirits, deepen our faith, and inspire us to continue walking together in hope, compassion, and service.

Yours in Catholic Education,
