NPSC Unites Community to Support The Gathering Place

The Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board (NPSC) is pleased to share that on May 21, 2025, we donated $3,470.75 to The Gathering Place, thanks to the success of our recent Charity Mixed Volleyball Tournament held in March.

Following its third successful run since launching in early 2024, the biannual tournament – co-organized by NPSC staff members Michelle Ricco and Bojan Markovic – has blossomed into a meaningful tradition that brings together staff, students, and community members in support of local needs.

“We are very proud of our Catholic education family for helping us support a local organization that is rooted in community service,” said Paula Mann, Director of Education. “This donation – and those that came before it – would not be possible without our selfless participants. We had 20 teams compete in the tournament this year, and I truly think that speaks to the heart of our community as well as our ability to come together to support those in need.”

Through this initiative, our incredible North Bay and area community has helped us raise $7,645.75 for The Gathering Place to date. The organization continues to do tremendous work, addressing food insecurity in our region and providing a welcoming space where all members of the community can gather and share a meal.

We extend our deepest gratitude to our tournament participants, volunteers, The Gathering Place staff, and everyone who helps make these events a success. At NPSC, we believe that a strong community is built on compassion and collaboration – and we look forward to continuing this tradition of giving.
