Easter Message from the Director of Education and NPSC Board Chair
Posted on 04/02/2026

“For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”

– Matthew 17:20

Dear parents, guardians, students, staff, and members of our NPSC community,

As we enter the joyous Easter season, we are drawn to the very heart of our Catholic faith: the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Easter is the greatest and most significant feast of the Church, marking the birth of our eternal hope. It reminds us that love is stronger than death, light triumphs over darkness, and our faith carries us forward even when our journey appears uncertain.

Throughout His Passion, Jesus placed His trust completely in God, remaining faithful even through suffering, fear, and abandonment. For us, as a Catholic education community, Easter invites us to reflect more deeply on what it means to live with a faith that strengthens and sustains, providing hope even in the face of adversity.
This reflection takes on special meaning when examined within the context of our Board’s Pastoral Plan theme of Faith and this year’s Catholic Education Week theme,Pilgrims of Hope: On the Path to Holiness. Although our individual journeys on the path to holiness may look different, we are united in our desire to grow closer to God.

Throughout the solemn season of Lent, our students and staff have given tangible expression to their faith through prayerful reflection, acts of almsgiving, and service. Through fundraising in support of local organizations such as the North Bay Food Bank, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, and other community partners, our Catholic school communities have responded in meaningful ways to Christ’s call to care for those in need.

These acts of generosity, alongside faith-based Lenten activities in our schools and parishes, remind us that faith is formed over time. When we remember this truth, and when we approach each moment as an opportunity to choose love, we contribute meaningfully to the good that is present in the world.

This evening, we begin the Easter Triduum, and therefore encourage all our Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board (NPSC) families to gather with their local parish communities to fully enter into the richness of this holy season. To deepen your understanding of the Easter Triduum, we invite you to explore The Paschal (Easter) Triduum in a Minute, a wonderful and brief resource created by NPSC Board Chaplain Father Joseph de Viveiros, C.R.

On behalf of the NPSC Board of Trustees and Senior Administration Team, we extend our most prayerful Easter blessings and best wishes to all our students, families, and staff.

May the joy of the risen Christ strengthen our faith, deepen our hope, and guide us as we continue our shared mission of Catholic education.

Yours in faith and service,
