Last week,  Mother St. Bride Catholic Elementary School (MSB) hosted Filipino Night: A Celebration of Culture and Diversity at St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Catholic Secondary School. Families, students, and staff came together to celebrate the vibrant culture, traditions, and heritage of the Filipino community.
The evening was filled with engaging Filipino music, traditional dances, fun games, and, of course, delicious Filipino cuisine. Attendees were also treated to meaningful storytelling and cultural displays that highlighted the beauty and depth of Filipino culture.
The Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board extends special gratitude to Rosalyn Legaspi and the large committee of Filipino parents from MSB, whose dedication and effort played a significant role in making the event special; to Merycris Seaman for singing the Filipino national anthem; to the group of Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED) program scholars from the Philippines currently studying at Canadore College for their beautiful presentation of an Indigenous Filipino lullaby; and to Principal Lori Schlueting and the MSB community for their vision, support, and participation.
