St. Gregory Catholic School
began in
September 1988 as a string of portable classrooms, in the
parking lot of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Powassan. Seven years later
a new school opened its doors to welcome the school community from
Burks Falls to Powassan, Chisholm to Restoule.
The school has
eight regular classrooms, a library, a gymnasium and a chapel. It also
has several working rooms for teachers and educational assistants to
work with small groups as well as a large meeting room where parent’s
groups and conferences take place.
The current enrollment of St.
Gregory’s is 150 students with a staff of six full time teachers, three
educational assistants, two custodians, a secretary and a principal.
