St. Alexander School strives
to be a family learning environment where all individual strengths,
challenges, and cultural backgrounds are recognized and honored with
dignity. The love of Christ is visible through the actions of staff,
parishes, families, and students. A safe working climate which enhances
self -esteem is established through fair boundaries and appropriate
behavior.
Construction in 1958, St. Alexander Catholic School is
located in a residential area in the west end of North Bay. It was named
after Bishop Alexander Carter who served as Bishop of the Diocese of
Sault Ste. Marie for 28 years. The school has a strong tradition of
family commitment and involvement and a long partnership with the
Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption Parish, both of which help create a
school community of learning and faith.
Recognition of student
achievements, participation and caring behavior occurs monthly in our
Virtue Celebrations at which time one child from each classroom is
recognized for displaying the characteristics of the Virtue. End of year
awards acknowledge student achievement as well.
These include awards for
- Humanitarianism
