St. Francis School: Gertrude Street East Road Construction
The City of North Bay has construction underway on Gertrude Street East from Gladstone Avenue to Knox Crescent / Tecumseh Street. Gertrude Street East has been blocked off, which will have an impact on our bus loading & unloading / parent drop-off & pick-up as well as the pedestrian traffic. We request your cooperation with the following interim measures.
Our number one priority is to ensure the safety of all of our students.
Bus Drop-Off & Pick-Up
The bus drop-off and pick-up will be along Tecumseh Street. To avoid any congestion or safety concerns, we ask that no parent parks along Tecumseh Street.
Parent Drop-Off & Pick-Up
All parents who will be dropping off and picking up their children from school, may park along Gertrude Street East between Tecumseh Street and Strathcona Drive.
School Parking Area
No vehicle will be permitted to enter the school parking area to drop off or pick up students. Please refer to the attached drawing that outlines the respective areas.
In order to ensure the safety of our students we will have volunteers for the first few days of school that will be helping to direct traffic flow.
The City of North Bay has informed us that construction and closure of the road may last until December. Further communication will follow as updates arise.
