Our NPSC Parent Involvement Committee warmly welcomes Dr. Alec Couros, presenting “Raising the Selfie Generation”.  In this presentation, Dr. Alec Couros will give you a sense of what your children may be up to online and will provide tips and suggestions for parents trying their best to keep afloat in this ever-changing reality.

Appropriate for parents and care givers of pre-teens and adolescents.

 

Topics addressed will include:

· The ins and outs of popular apps, digital footprint, reputation, and public shaming

· Online privacy and safety, inappropriate content and sexting, catfishing and identity theft

· Mental health and wellness and developing a positive digital identity

 

Dr. Couros is a professor, researcher, and speaker specializing in the areas of social media, technology integration, digital citizenship, and media literacy.
