2016–2017 School Year Calendar

At the February 23, 2016 NPSC Board meeting, the School Year Calendar was recommended and approved by the Board of Trustees. The school year will begin on September 1, 2016 for staff and September 5, 2015 for students. The school year would end on June 30, 2017 for both students and staff. This recommendation has been approved by the Ministry of Education. Please see the attachment below for more information. We would like to thank all parents, community members and staff for their participation.

SJSH Student Juliana Head has been selected by the Rotary Club of North Bay to attend the World Affairs Seminar in Wisconsin this June. Students from across the world will gather for the week long seminar to learn about how to become a global leader with an innovative, rigorous academic program. Congratulations Juliana!

SJSH Student Attending Worldwide Apple Conference

Congratulations to SJSH student David Moore, who received a scholarship this week to attend the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco this summer. David is one of only 350 scholarship recipients, competing with students 13 years of age and older, from all corners of the world. Way to go David!

SJSH Student Receives Scholarship and Purdy Award

Kyesha Fong is a grade 12 student at SJSH. She recently won an RBC Challenge and as a result received a $1000 Scholarship and a trip to Nova Scotia to attend the In.Business Conference. The In.Business program is a national program for Aboriginal Youth in partnership with 6 universities. Kyesha is also a recipient of the Purdy Crawford Chair Award. Congratulations on your great accomplishments Kyesha! Keep up the great work!

Grades 7 & 8 Literacy and Math Summer Camp

Grades 7 & 8 Literacy and Math Summer Camp

The summer camp program addresses the needs of students in reading, writing and numeracy. It is also designed to help boost student self-confidence and self-worth, resulting in increased confidence in Grade 8 and/or a successful transition to secondary school. Dates: July 4 - July 22, 9:00am-12:30pm
Location: St. Joseph-Scollard Hall 
Applications must be received by Friday, June 17, 2016.
